How often do you stop and consider the thoughts running through your head?
Did you know your brain processes well over 60,000 thoughts a day? (This number was believed to be bigger, but the latest studies indicate that 6k is a more accurate number and it is based on real science). But even so, 60k is a lot, a day.
Being aware of where you put your attention is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. So often, we believe our thoughts to be facts and as a result, create very specific outcomes in our lives. The thing is, our thoughts are optional. They are not facts and distinguishing between a fact and a thought that feels true isn’t as simple as it sounds.
Why does it matter?
Because NO one is living the life of their dreams by accident.
It just doesn’t happen that way.
You live the life you have created through your thoughts and beliefs (a belief is simply a thought that you continue to think).
I triple dog dare you to try and prove me wrong.
If you are over 50 like me, you know what you want out of life, you know the kind of life you want to be living.
The question is - do you have that life now? Are you living that life now? Today?
Are you heading towards it or have you given up completely?
So often, we put off those dreams, goals, wants, and desires because we are too busy living our day-to-day. Life happens and we get sucked into the circumstances in which we live.
Work, corona, deadlines, news, politics, drama, drama, drama….
One of the biggest mistakes we make as a society is believing that our circumstances create our reality and that we have no control over the life we live.
We believe the “When X happens, things will be better” theory, and we put off making our life, our goals, our dreams, and our desires, priorities.
Time does not stand still folks.
If not now, when?
I get it - you believe you have no control over these things.
But the longer you continue to believe that big fat lie, the longer you will continue to live your current status quo.
The longer you buy into that bullshit, the longer you behave as a victim to your life instead of the master of your destiny. It sounds oh so cliche, I know, but the truth sometimes stings a bit.
Life doesn’t have to be like that.
Truth. I swear.
Becoming aware of the thoughts you are thinking sounds so basic, so simple, so easy. But is it? Can becoming aware really change your life?
